What separates people who are good at their jobs from people who are great at their jobs? I’m sure if you polled 100 people you’d get 100 different answers. One answer would surely be the ability to keep it fresh; to continue to enjoy your job; to treat each customer as the most important part of your day. This is how Marianne Stone achieves the success that she has at Nassief Honda in Ashtabula, Ohio. Marianne started working with automobile financing 18 years ago as a credit buyer for Chrysler Financial. She moved to the F&I Manager position for Nassief Ford Toyota Hyundai in 2002, then to Nassief Honda where she is today.
There are those who, after that amount of time at a job, simply go through the motions, make their usual income and in general, just fly under the radar. Marianne still enjoys the job too much for that. Her focus is always the customer and the satisfaction of knowing they are taken care of. The profit and income just follow. Not that she doesn’t work at it—she believes that the 300% rule is the key to her success. She offers everything to everyone all the time.
What sets Marianne apart, in addition to her strong numbers, is that she is always looking for new ways to get customers listening. For instance she created her own video that pairs two products together and makes sure that each customer watches it before she presents her menu.
And, she doesn’t shy away from training. Even a 3-hour drive doesn’t keep her from attending Jeram’s F&I seminars.
Marianne also has her own twist on goal-setting. She keeps last year’s numbers on her desk and sets her goal to beat them. In other words, she competes with herself.
As we know, this job can get frustrating and I asked Marianne how she works through that. She gives a lot of credit to her husband who, she says, is her sounding board and allows her to vent.
Job satisfaction, finding new ways to present the products, and setting goals—Marianne has found the perfect combination that works for her. Jeram Marketing congratulates Marianne Stone on a job well-done!
